The community of the “world aids awareness expedition” is getting bigger and bigger. More and more active people climb the highest peaks of countries and set a collective sign until the end of 2010.
“And if we have to, we will climb the peaks until the world understands, that the summit of new infections is reached”, says one of the combatants.
Of course it is not possible for everyone to climb a summit somewhere in the world. This is why more and more people ask us to climb the peaks of Germany, of the federal states. Why not? Every sign, every signal creates attention.
"So, YES!", during Pentecost the decision was made, and already in the free state of Thuringia, the 982 meter-high Grosser Beerberg climbed. A team with members from all over Germany; Uwe Kunz, Christian Erhorn, Eric Haus, Norbert Oberdiek and Karl-Ludwig Schäfer form the region of Saarbrucken, Peter Dargel from Dresden, Andreas Heinssen and Klaus-Rainer Hartung from Dusseldorf. Jens Panse from Erfurt, Peter Schneider from Koblenz and Joachim Fran, initiator of the “world aids awareness expedition, met at the Rennsteig for a mountain biking-tour and took a break at the Großen Beerberg. They wanted to remember all the mountaineers who support the expedition and especially to set a sign for the HIV infected people of Thruringia, Germany and the world. All starters of the Pentecost-team have been active before for the “be your own hero” association, which is in charge of the donations of the “world aids awareness expedition”.
